Ben and Kate’s Cape May Wedding

This past September I had the pleasure of photographing Ben and Kate’s wedding in Cape May, NJ at the historic Chalfonte Inn. Lisa and I met Kate years ago at a local zombie run, and have been friends ever since. Kate and Ben are two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, and The Chalfonte made the perfect venue for these two, who wanted to spend as much time enjoying the company of their guests as possible. After a quick first-look on the gorgeous balcony of the Chalfonte, we celebrated their nuptials inside, followed by a lovely cocktail hour on the sweeping veranda(do they call it a veranda in the North?). After a quick walk to another local inn for additional portraits, we all danced our way into the night. The party spilled back out onto the veranda where guests cooled off and enjoyed the late night breeze coming in off the ocean. Thanks for including me, Ben and Kate!

Andrea and Matt’s Bluemont Vineyard Wedding

Andrea and Matt were married last August at Bluemont Vineyards in the ever gorgeous Bluemont, Virginia. I’ve been shooting weddings at Bluemont for close to ten years now, and Andrea and Matt were married on not only one of the nicest days I’ve had at Bluemont, but also one of the most moderate August days I can remember. After a few getting ready photos, Andrea and Matt were ready for their first look down amongst the grapevines! We spent a few minutes afterwards taking some romantic portraits before heading inside to sign the ketubah. After a gorgeous ceremony, guests lingered outside on the grounds, playing lawn games and enjoying the acoustic duet Andrea and Matt provided. We snuck back out into the vineyard after Matt and Drea’s first dance for some really gorgeous twilight photos, but after that it was all party!

Many thanks to Elegant Momentz for the gorgeous decorations and seamless planning!

Dorian and Michael’s Fredericksburg Wedding

Dorian and Michael were married in August of 2015, and I’m so happy to share some fun images from their wedding! I met Dorian and Michael at the Downtown Marriott to capture some intimate moments of them getting ready for their nuptials. From there we took a quick trip to King George for the ceremony, followed by a reception at the always gorgeous Stevenson Ridge. Before the party got started, we took a stroll around the property for some fun and causal portraits. After dinner, Dorian and Michael and I snuck back outside to get an early preview of the ice cream truck they had hired to surprise their guests with, and take some gorgeous portraits at dusk. After that, we partied well into the night!  As an aside, if you’re thinking about venues in the Fredericksburg area, please consider joining me at Stevenson Ridge’s Open House on March 13th to tour the venue, and meet myself and other wedding vendors. Details can be found here. In the meantime, enjoy the images!

Amy and Conor’s Wedding at Stevenson Ridge!

Earlier this summer I had the great pleasure of photographing Amy and Conor’s gorgeous wedding and celebration. Their ceremony was held at St. Matthew’s church in Spotsylvania, VA, while their reception was at the always lovely Stevenson Ridge just down the road.

What I loved most about Amy and Conor’s wedding is how family-centric it felt. Amy has a VERY large family, and she and Conor did an excellent job of making both families feel like one, which is no easy task on a hectic wedding day. I would say more about how great these two are, but I think the pictures speak for themselves. Congratulations Conor and Amy!

After you get done checking out Amy and Conor’s wedding, make sure you visit the vendors who made it all happen.

Erin and Amanda

This past June Erin and Amanda threw an awesome backyard wedding at their home in Spotsylvania, VA and I was stoked to be a part of it. They put a lot of thought into making their wedding meaningful. Good friend, and slinger of ink, Kenny Brown (of Jack Brown’s Tattoo Revival fame) presided over the ceremony, and in lieu of gifts, Erin and Amanda asked that donations be made to the local SPCA.  Before the ceremony guests got to mingle and enjoy a Jameson fountain that flowed all night long. We made it through the ceremony, portraits and cake-cutting (a gorgeous cake also made by a good friend) before phones started blowing up with tornado warnings from a tornado touching down less than a mile away. So what do you do when a tornado touches down on  your wedding day? Enjoy your first dance in the rain, of course. I had a blast with Erin and Amanda and hope you enjoy their images.
